4 Years Ago 2Pac's "All Eyez On Me" Went Diamond

Out on bail, fresh out of jail, California dreaming,Soon as I step on the scene, I'm hearing hoochies screaming,Fiending for money and alcohol,The life of a Westside player where cowards die and the strong ball,

These iconic lines come from 2Pac's 7x Platinum song "California Love" from the iconic album "All Eyez On Me". This week marked 4 years since the album was certified Diamond which is an accomplishment that only he and a few other select rappers better yet artists have done. The album All Eyez on Me was so impactful that it would eventually be the centerpiece to the critically acclaimed motion picture 'biopic' of 2Pac's life. It's interesting to see how an album that was a 27-track a double disc album sell so well especially when comparing it to the current day EP trend that has been seen from artists like Kanye and the G.O.O.D music roster but with Drake's Scorpion of course being the exception. But after looking at the tracklist and realizing just how many hits and stand alone singles that the album has it's clear to see why the album is considered a classic. Singles like "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" featuring fellow Death Row artist Snoop Dogg, was a celebration of 2 artists who had both beat 2 high-profile cases that had labeled the two 2 of America's most wanted. "How Do You Want It" was another big single that features R&B singers K-Ci and JoJo, it served as a single for the ladies and highlighted the sex symbol that 2Pac had become. Other singles like "Can't C Me", "Thug Passion", "Ratha Be Your Nigga", and the title track "All Eyez On Me" became underground favorites at parties and more urban events. These singles are still West Coast go-to-records that captured the sound and the feel of the West Coast. The general consensus for this album is that it's easily one of 2Pac's greatest albums released. All Eyez On Me showed 2Pac truly embracing the T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E. that was often times media propelled. The 2Pac that people had known from his previous album Me Against The World had accepted his role as a wolf. But as a wolf he was able to create change from within. His words, his songs, and most importantly his work ethic still live on. As we are still discovering unreleased 2Pac songs and verses. That's why 22 years later 2Pac can still say from the heavens "All Eyez On Me".https://open.spotify.com/album/4CzT5ueFBRpbILw34HQYxi
